“Life goes until it’s gone, you have to go where it’s going.”

My Approach

I view myself as a fellow traveler on the journey of healing. I believe we all have natural processes of healing and growth within each of us, and my goal is to support the exploration rather than lead it. My approach is founded on openness, trust, authenticity, warmth, and non-judgment. I like to roll up my sleeves and get in the work with clients, exploring the interconnected systems of what makes us who we are, as well as feelings of distractibility, disengagement and disconnection. My goal is to empower clients to be agents of meaningful change in their lives.

Meet Emily Foster, LCSW, MCAP, ICADC

Currently not accepting new clients. We do have a waiting list that you can be put on.

I partner with clients to find the strength, perspectives and resiliency to overcome challenges and gain clear perspectives. I believe my client is the expert of their own life, and that they possess the inner resources needed in times of hardship. As a therapist, I hold space for curiosity and self-learning, and I am committed to ensuring that clients feel seen, heard and valued. I take a non-directive stance and I am attentive to social, cultural, relational and political aspects of clients’ lives.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I obtained my Master’s in Social Work from the University of Central Florida and my Bachelor’s Degree from  Villanova University.  I previously worked across a variety of settings, including residential and therapeutic communities in both the private and non-profit sectors.  I have a passion for working with individuals and families impacted by substance use disorders and trauma. I am a MCAP (Masters Certified Addiction Professional), and an ICADC (Internationally Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor).   I received my CTT (Certified Trauma Therapist) through Judy Crane’s Spirit to Spirit training in 2018 and I am trained in DBT and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).  I also incorporate neurofeedback into my work, a non-invasive way to help regulate the brain. I completed my neurofeedback training through The EEG Institute in Woodland Hills, California.

I work with adolescents (12+) and adults. I see clients with a variety of issues; ranging from addiction, anxiety, depression, trauma, etc.

I welcome clients of all races, cultural, religious and ethnic backgrounds and sexual orientations.
